SIS Raises $10,472 During Healthy Heart Challenge

Somers Intermediate School students raised $10,472 during the American Heart Association's Healthy Heart Challenge, which took place over the month of February. The fundraiser was incorporated into the school's physical education unit on healthy habits and encouraged students to take part in exercises such as jumping rope. Mrs. Harris' and Mrs. Hill's classes had the most heart heroes. As an added bonus to the students' fundraising efforts, the US Games company is also donating $500 to purchase PE equipment for the healthy heart program. Our Somers families were very generous in supporting this initiative and we thank all those who donated to make the Challenge a success!
