Dear Families,

Our dedicated team in the Technology Office works closely with faculty in each building to integrate technology into the classroom and enrich our students' learning experiences. We strive to ensure that all students have the tools and support they need to succeed in a digital learning environment.

To further assist our students, we have established the Gear Shack, conveniently located in both the middle school and high school. The Gear Shack is designed to provide direct support for students with their learning devices throughout the school day, ensuring they can seamlessly access their educational resources and stay focused on their studies.

PLD Information

Welcome to SCSD 1 to 1 student device program and please read the Personal Learning Device (PLD) information below. If you have questions, please complete the SCSD Family Technology Support form or email our helpdesk.

All parents and students must sign the PLD agreement available in ParentSquare before they can receive a tablet. If you have not registered for ParentSquare, please do so now. For instructions on how to register for the ParentSquare App, please visit our ParentSquare webpage.

All families receiving a tablet or iPad must sign the PLD agreement. For those students in grades 6th through 12th - If your child brings his/her own device, you will still need to complete the PLD Agreement in ParentSquare but select the BYOD choice at sing off.

The details of the distribution process of tablets and iPads are evolving daily. Please know as things become more clear during these uncertain times, you will be notified.

Our Infrastructure

Wireless Network

Somers CSD School’s fiber optic network supports full wireless access throughout all our buildings for faculty, staff, students, and guests. This robust network is equipped to support the mobile devices of both teachers and students.

Technology in the Classroom

Every classroom has interactive displays for teachers and students to use. All students have a Personal Learning Devices (PLD), students in grades K-5 are provided with iPads and students in grades 6-12 are provided Surface Go's.

Communication

Students are provided with Office 365 accounts and those in grades 6-12 are provided with an email account to collaborate with teachers and other students.
