Membership & Commitment

The SCSD Educational Equity Advisory Team will meet approximately three times a year for sixty minutes with more frequent sixty minute subcommittee meetings. The desire is to have faculty and staff members from each school, a few students from Somers High School, parents, community members, administrators from elementary and secondary, and central office representation. There are also subcommittee meetings that take place throughout the year. It is requested that you make a commitment to be on this committee for at least two years.

 Please respond to the following questions when you express your interest:

  1. Why would you like to participate on the SCSD Educational Equity Advisory Committee?
  2. What experience do you have personally or professionally that helps you to understand issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion?
  3. What do you feel you would bring to support the efforts of the SCSD Educational Equity Advisory Team?

Becoming a SEEAT Member

The SCSD Educational Equity Advisory Team will meet approximately three times a year for sixty minutes with more frequent sixty-minute subcommittee meetings. The desire is to have faculty and staff members from each school, a few students from Somers High School, parents, community members, administrators from elementary and secondary, and central office representation. Meetings this year will be on the following days from 4:00-5:00 PM on 10/18/22, 1/17/23 and 5/9/23 in the Somers Middle School Library. There are also subcommittee meetings that take place throughout the year. It is requested that you make a commitment to be on this committee for at least two years.
