How to Become a Mentee
T.E.A.M. Tuskers Mentoring Program is open to any SCSD student in grades 3 through 8. Parents, SCSD faculty and/or students themselves can request a mentor by contacting
either the Somers Middle School (SMS) or Somers Intermediate School (SIS) counseling department. Students who are in the program in 8th grade will have the opportunity to continue with their mentor at the high school.

Students in mentoring programs gain confidence in all areas of their lives. In addition, these students are:
52% less likely to skip school;
46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs;
27% less likely to begin using alcohol; and
33% less likely to hit someone.
