Somers SEPTA & PTA Council Awards for Outstanding Service to Education

SEPTA Award of Excellence:
This award is given to a faculty member with 10 or more years in the school district who has shown consistent dedication to helping our special needs students excel in all areas of their lives. Nominee must be a SEPTA member.
Sherri Mangus Award of Merit:
Re-named in honor of Sherri’s spirit, enthusiasm and endless belief in the potential of all our students, this award is given to a faculty member with 5 or more years in the school district who embodies these same qualities and has touched the lives of our special needs students. Nominee must be a SEPTA member.
Making The Difference Award:
This award is given to a Teaching Assistant or Teacher Aide with 5 or more years in the school district who makes a positive impact on students by supporting thoughtful teaching practices in the classroom which promote achievement and participation of students. The recipient actively engages students in learning and social experiences while enhancing students' confidence, independence, and self-esteem. Nominee must be a member of a Somers PTA unit.
TUSKER Award (Teacher/ Staff who Unequivocally Shows Kindness to Everyone Recipient), presented by PTA Council:
This award is given to a staff member with 3 or more years in the school district who shows dedication and commitment to all students. The recipient goes the extra mile each and every day to serve their students and their communities and inspires others to do the same. Nominee must be a member of a Somers PTA unit.

Go to myschoolbucks.com – log in and select school store on the top of the page. There is a menu for each PTA unit and Somers PTA Council.
NYS PTA uses Member Hub as another way to sign up and pay for membership. Enter Somers as the school district and choose the PTA associated with your school or SEPTA.
Cash or check is still accepted payable to each Unit. Membership forms can be found on each unit website.
