• Welcome to Mrs. Malley's & Mrs. Kane's Kindergarten Class!

Mrs. Newman and Mrs. Walsh, Teaching Assistants

    August 2019

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to kindergarten at Primrose School!  We are pleased to be your child's teachers.  We are looking forward to working with you and your child and to having a successful year.

You are invited to visit our classroom, room A-10, with your child on Thursday, August 29th from 3:15-4:00 for our Kindergarten Meet and Greet.  Our teaching assistants, Mrs. Newman and Mrs. Walsh, will be there as well.  If you are unable to make it at that time, we will meet your child on the first day of school.

There are a few things that your child will need to bring to school each day.  Everyone needs to bring a backpack, a folder (which we will provide) and a healthy snack every day.  We are a peanut and nut free classroom, so please be sensitive to this when packing snacks.

Please check our class website for our supply list.  Most of the supplies on the list are already listed on the Primrose website.

It would be easiest for your child if you bring these items in a bag, labeled with your child's name, on August 29th if you will be visiting that day, or to your child's screening appointment. There is no need to bring pencils or scissors from home, we have plenty.  Pencil boxes and hand sanitizer are also not necessary.  It would be a great help if you would please take the headphones out of their original packaging, label them with your child's name and send them in a Ziploc bag also labeled with your child's name.

We are asking all kindergarten students to bring lunch from home from Monday, September 9th through Thursday, September 12th.  Your child may begin to buy lunch on Friday, September 13th if you so choose.

**If your child prefers to be called by a nickname, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can make the appropriate labels for the classroom.

**Please check our class website for your child's screening appointment.  We ask that you bring your child to school at the scheduled time and expect to stay about a half an hour.  Please keep in mind that the first three days of school, September 4th-6th are half days for kindergarten only.

**Save the date - Kindergarten Open House will be held for parents only on September 4th at 7:00 P.M.

We are looking forward to meeting you and hope that you and your family are having a great summer.

    Dear Friends,

Welcome to kindergarten!  We are happy to be your teachers and we are looking forward to meeting you. We will be in our classroom on Thursday, August 29th between 3:15-4:00 in the afternoon.  Mrs. Newman and Mrs. Walsh will be there too.  You and your parents are invited to come and visit our classroom then.

We'd like to tell you a little bit about ourselves:

Mrs. Malley - "I love school!  I like to read and color.  My favorite color is green.  I don't have any pets, but I really like dogs.  I have one son and I love to spend time with my family."

Mrs. Kane - "I like to travel and go to the beach.  My favorite color is yellow.  I like to eat chocolate!  I have one daughter."

We can't wait to learn about the things you like!

We are going to have a lot of fun and learn lots of new things together. We will paint, color, sing, read, write and play math games together. We know you are going to like our classroom. We have many fun things to do.  You will get to see some of them when you visit.

We hope to see you on August 29th.  Just follow the signs in the hallway that will lead you to our classroom.

    Your Friends,

    Mrs. Malley and Mrs. Kane
