                                                                                                                                            August 2018

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to kindergarten at Primrose School!  We are pleased to be your child's teachers.  We are looking forward to working with you and your child and to having a successful year.

You are invited to visit our classroom, room A-10, with your child on Friday, August 24th between 9:30-10:30 A.M.  Our teaching assistants, Mrs. Newman and Mrs. Walsh, will be there as well.  If you are unable to make it at that time, we will meet your child when he or she comes in for the Kindergarten Screening.

There are a few things that your child will need to bring to school each day.  Everyone needs to bring a backpack, a folder and a healthy snack every day.  We are a nut free classroom, so please be sensitive to this when packing snacks.

Please check our class website for our supply list.  Most of the supplies on the list are already listed on the Primrose website.

It would be easiest for your child if you bring these items in a bag, labeled with your child's name, on August 24th if you will be visiting that day, or to your child's screening appointment.  Please send the folder in your child's backpack on the first day of school, you don't need to send it in with the other supplies.  There is no need to bring pencils or scissors from home, we have plenty.  Pencil boxes and hand sanitizer are also not necessary.  We will send home a letter once school starts asking for payment for a subscription to Scholastic's "Let's Find Out" magazine.  This magazine covers many different science and social studies topics throughout the school year.  The cost will be roughly $6.00.  The letter that comes home will give the exact amount.

We are asking all kindergarten students to bring lunch from home from Wednesday, September 12th through Friday, September 14th.  Your child may begin to buy lunch on Monday, September 17th if you so choose.

**If your child prefers to be called by a nickname, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can make the appropriate labels for the classroom.

**Please check our class website for your child's screening appointment.  We ask that you bring your child to school at the scheduled time and expect to stay about a half an hour.  Please keep in mind that the first three days of school, September 5th-7th are half days for kindergarten only.

**Save the date - Kindergarten Open House will be held for parents only on September 5th at 7:00 P.M.

We are looking forward to meeting you and hope that you and your family are having a great summer.

    Dear Friends,

Welcome to kindergarten!  We are happy to be your teachers and we are looking forward to meeting you. We will be in our classroom on Friday, August 24th between 9:30-10:30 in the morning.  Mrs. Newman and Mrs. Walsh will be there too.  You and your parents are invited to come and visit our classroom then.

We'd like to tell you a little bit about ourselves:

Mrs. Malley - "I love school!  I like to read and color.  My favorite color is green.  I don't have any pets, but I really like dogs.  I have one son and I love to spend time with my family."

Mrs. Kane - "I like to travel and go to the beach.  My favorite color is yellow.  I like to eat chocolate!  I have one daughter."

We can't wait to learn about the things you like!

We are going to have a lot of fun and learn lots of new things together.  We will paint, color, sing, read, write and play math games together.  We know you are going to like our classroom. We have many fun things to do.  You will get to see some of them when you visit.

We hope to see you on August 24th.  Just follow the signs in the hallway that will lead you to our classroom. When you see the bulletin board with the owls, you will be there!

    Your Friends,

    Mrs. Malley and Mrs. Kane
