Welcome to Kindergarten!with Mrs. Gaudio
It’s hard to believe that the summer is almost over…the big day is almost here...the first day of Kindergarten! I hope that you and your family have enjoyed the summer, and are looking forward, as I am, to our upcoming school year together.
My name is Robin Gaudio, and I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share this year with you and your child! We have a wonderful Teaching Assistant, Mrs. DiLeo, who will also be an important part of your child’s year! When school begins, our class will be split into two classrooms, to allow for social distancing, and Mrs. DiLeo and I will be moving back and forth between both rooms each day. I will be instructing your child and Mrs. DiLeo will be supporting instruction. I will talk more about this new model at our Virtual Open House, Tuesday, September 8th at 7 pm.
Starting school can often be a big transition for children. This year may be especially hard for many of us, after so much extra time at home with family. I understand that each child will be coming to school with a mix of different emotions…excitement, nervousness, happiness, anxiousness and more. We’ll start the year by building a sense of trust and community, with time for fun activities that will help your child acclimate to Kindergarten. I am confident that by working together we will have a tremendously successful year!
Please take a few moments to read through our Kindergarten supply list posted on my website- there are some minor changes to the general Kindergarten list, and specifics on what to send in for the start of the year. I have also posted important information on snacktime and lunch. Check back soon for a "Meet the Teachers" post!
Our first day of school is on Tuesday, September 8, and the first three days of school will be HALF DAYS for Primrose students. Full days of school begin on Friday, September 11.
On the first day of school, please send your child to school with a backpack holding her folder, water, a healthy snack and the items detailed on my supply list in red (inside of the two supply boxes). Remember an extra mask (just in case). The rest of the supplies that we'll need can be sent in over the course of the first week. If you are able to drop off supplies to Primrose before the first day, please be sure that everything has your child's name, and the bag has your child's name and mine on it.
Enjoy these last fleeting days of summer; I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year! Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me through email: firstname.lastname@example.org
