Welcome to Kindergarten!
with Mrs. GaudioAugust 2022
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe that the summer is almost over…the big day is almost here...the first day of Kindergarten! I hope that you and your family have enjoyed the summer, and are looking forward, as I am, to our upcoming school year together.
My name is Robin Gaudio, and I will be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share this year with you and your child! We have a wonderful Teaching Assistant, Mrs. Maryann O'Shea, who will also be an important part of your child’s year!
Starting school can often be a big transition for children. I understand that each child will be coming to school with a mix of different emotions…excitement, nervousness, happiness, anxiousness and more. We’ll start the year by building a sense of trust and community, with time for fun activities that will help your child acclimate to Kindergarten. I am confident that by working together we will have a tremendously successful year!
Please take a few moments to read through our Kindergarten supply list posted on my website- there are some minor changes to the general Kindergarten list, and specifics on what to send in for the start of the year. I have also posted important information on snacktime and lunch.
Our first day of school is on Thursday, September 1, and the first three days of school will be HALF DAYS for Kindergarten students. Full days of school begin on Wednesday, September 7.
I hope to meet you at our Kindergarten Orientation Day, Tuesday, August 30 from 3:15-4:15 pm. It is an informal time to stop in to meet us, drop off your child's supplies and check out our space! You won't need the whole hour but please plan on arriving by 4 at the latest. Please label the bag of school supplies with your child's name.
Our Open House/Meet the Teacher evening is the first day of school- Thursday, September 1 at 7pm in our classroom (adults only).
On the first day of school, please send your child to school with a backpack holding her water and a healthy and nut-free snack. Many families like to include a sticker or luggage tag on the backpack strap (so it shows in front) with the following information to help Primrose staff help your child get to our classroom:
Child's first and last name
Mrs. Gaudio
Room A-12
If you are unable to attend on the 30th, the rest of the supplies that we'll need can be brought to your child's screening appointment on one of the first three days of school (more info will follow) . If you would like to drop off supplies to Primrose before the first day, please be sure that the folder/headphones have your child's name, and the bag of supplies has your child's name and mine on it.
Enjoy these last fleeting days of summer; I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year! Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me through email: rmgaudio@somersschools.org
Fondly,
Robin Gaudio
