Dear First Grader and Family,
Welcome back to Primrose Elementary School! My name is Nancy Hannon and I am excited to be your (or your child’s) First Grade Teacher! I hope you are having a wonderful summer! I can't wait to hear all about it! I am enjoying the summer by going to the beach, reading, relaxing, taking long walks and playing with my two cats!
On the first day of school, Wednesday, September 4th, you are welcome to bring in a favorite stuffed animal with you. I will also bring in mine! We can share why you chose to bring in that certain stuffed animal, and why it is so special to you. If you forget to bring in a stuffed animal, no worries, I have extras in our classroom.
Also, on that first day of school, try to send in the First Grade School Supplies with your child. Unfortunately, Primrose Elementary School will be closed all summer because the school is getting a new roof, so you will not be able to drop off the supplies before the first day of school. The list of First Grade Supplies is a separate link on my Classroom Webpage. If you are unable to send in all of the supplies on the first day of school, please send them in by the end of that first week.
We will have many activities in September that help me get to know you, help you get to know me and help you get to know your new classmates! You will have your own desk, make new friends, have classroom jobs and become a stronger reader, writer, mathematician and scientist in first grade! I am excited to begin this learning journey with you!
Please send your child to school with a nut free snack, even on the first day of school. Information about snack is posted on our Classroom Web Page under Allergy Information.
Enjoy the last weeks of summer with each other! I can't wait to hear about all of the fun you have been having!
I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!
