    IMPORTANT CAP & GOWN INFORMATION: Emails to any senior who has not yet ordered a cap and gown from Jostens were sent out on 4/29.  Orders must be placed by May 8th to have them in time for graduation.  If you received an email and have any questions, please reach out to your Class of 2021 Advisors, Ms. O’Shea (boshea@somersschools.org) or Ms. DeLandri (kdelandri@somersschools.org)

     PROM SAVE THE DATE - Get excited! Prom is quickly approaching, and the Somers Class of 2021 is preparing to celebrate our seniors like stars! Seniors will arrive to a red-carpet entrance fit for royalty. After they are checked in, they will enter our gorgeous tent on Primrose field. From there they will enjoy a night of photo opportunities, dazzling lights, and of course, a fantastic DJ to play all their favorite songs. The night would not be complete without individually packaged, gourmet meals of their choice. Prepare to have an amazing, beautiful, and safe prom!

    Due to forecasted rain on Friday, the Senior Hiking Trip and Scavenger Hunt has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 20th (from periods 7A-8).

    REMINDER: Please sign-up for a hiking group if you have not yet done so. If you do not complete the hiking form, we will put you in a group! Don't have a group? Sign up as a single hiker and we will put you in a group! Sign-up HERE!  Senior Hiking Trip Microsoft Form.



    Starting June 1st, we will be displaying the names of the members of the Class of 2021 on the electronic sign at the front of the school.  Please fill out THIS FORM by May 3rd to have your post-secondary plans included along with your name. If we do not receive a response by May 3rd, we will display your name only.

    The Senior Hiking Trip and Scavenger Hunt is on Friday, April 16th (from periods 7A-8). Assemble teams of up to 6 people to complete the scavenger hunt and win cool prizes! Only your team captain needs to complete the Microsoft Form to sign your team up (no cost, all students will attend the event during school hours). Don't have a hiking team? Don't worry! Sign up on the Microsoft Form and choose the option that says, 'I would like to be paired with a group' and we will put you on a team. All seniors will eat lunch on Turf 2 the day of the event. Before you leave for your hike, you can hang out on the turf with your friends and play games to pass the time!  Please bring a bagged lunch OR pre-order your lunch from the cafeteria at least 24 hours prior to the event.     Senior Hike at Reis Park

    Seniors will be excused from class to take part in one of the multiple hikes through Reis Park, with an outdoor lunch period right beforehand. Seniors will compete against other teams in a photo scavenger hunt for the chance to win a grand prize!  Start assembling your team of 6 people!

    SHS is putting together a Graduation Committee to help plan the Commencement Ceremony for the Class of '21, in accordance with health and safety guidelines. We are looking for a few parents to join us for the meetings, which will be held bi-weekly from January - May, as needed. All meetings will take place via Zoom from 3:00 - 4:00. The dates of the meetings are:

    1/28, 2/11, 2/25, 3/11, 3/25, 4/22, 5/6 and 5/20. Please contact Nicole Brownstein or Karen Collura if you are interested.




    Senior students, if you are interested in helping plan a drive-in/outdoor Movie night for seniors please contact Naoko Todo (todo.naoko@somersschools.org) to participate in the planning committee.  



    If you missed out on ordering your Senior apparel at the beginning of the school year, here is your chance to order!  The store is open until Midnight on February 8th and orders will be ready for pick up during the first week of March.

    DECEMBER, 2020:


    Mr. Somers took place on Monday, 12/21. The show premiered on YouTube HERE! Grab some snacks and tune in to find out who was crowned as this year's Mr. Somers!!!


    November, 2020:



    Every student needs to place an order for a cap/gown/tassel/stole unit. The price for all items is $46 and can be purchased HERE. All other items and packages are optional. Make sure you note Somers High School in Lincolndale, New York when placing your order. Please contact Jostens with any questions via phone at 1-800-854-7464 or Email.  


    On November 5th (White Cohort) & 6th (Red Cohort) Seniors will be released from their 8th period class to take a Senior class photo out on the football field.  Students will be 6 feet apart with masks on and will be organized on the field in the shape of a "2" and a "1".  The picture will be taken by a drone from above.  Please remember to wear BLACK on that day for Color Wars!


    October 2020:

    Attention Seniors! In lieu of the senior apple picking trip, the class board is planning a pumpkin painting event on Thursday, October 29th (P1, White Day). Students will be released from their 8th period class (12:25-1:40) to enjoy painting their pumpkin outside with the entire class of 2021! This means that our virtual seniors will be released from their 7C period class 15 minutes early so they can drive to campus. To cover the cost of the pumpkins and paint, students participating in the event must pay $5, which can be given to the members of the student council who will be running tables during lunch throughout next week, or to the class advisors (Ms. McEwan and Ms. DeLandri).


    All Senior class apparel has been delivered!  Please see Ms. McEwan in room 121 if you received the wrong size for any apparel.
