The morning of June 8, 2020, Governor Cuomo signed an executive order that changes the deadline for the school budget vote and trustee election. The order extends the deadline for the receipt of mailed absentee ballots until June 16, 2020.
Voters will still be able to submit a hand-delivered ballot at the entrance of Somers Middle School tomorrow, June 9th from 9am to 5pm. If you are unable to hand-deliver your ballot by 5pm on June 9th, the ballot can be submitted via US Mail and will be counted, as long as it is received in the district office no later than 5pm on June 16th.
We have been advised that we are not able to issue additional ballots after 5pm on June 9th.
All ballots will remain sealed until 5pm on June 16th, at which time they will be counted.
Registered voters within the Somers Central School District community will have the opportunity to vote on the proposed 2020-21 district budget plus two Board of Education candidates.
Budget presentations are available under the "Budget Presentations to Board of Ed" page.
Per Governor’s Executive Order 202.26, voting may only take place by mail.
Qualified voters of the Somers Central School District will receive absentee ballots by mail.
