Non-Discrimination Statement of the Somers Central School District
The Somers Central School District (“District”), its officers and employees, shall not discriminate against any individuals, including but not limited to students, employees or applicants on the basis of age, religion, race, creed, color, gender expression or identity, national origin, sex, disability, marital status, veteran or military status, sexual orientation, or predisposing genetic characteristics. This policy of nondiscrimination includes access by students to educational and/or vocational programs; counseling services for students; course offerings and student activities; recruitment, appointment and promotion of employees; and employment pay and benefits, and it is required by Title IX of Education Amendments of 1972 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as attended and then promulgated thereunder, not to discriminate in such a manner. This policy also provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.
