August 2021

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Kindergarten at Primrose School!  We are pleased to be Co-Teachers of your child’s class.  Our Teaching Assistants are Mrs. Navatta and Mrs. Walsh. We are looking forward to working with you and your child and to having a successful year.  Our primary goals this year are to make your child feel safe, comfortable, happy and to love school and learning.

There are a few things that your child will need to bring to school each day.  Everyone needs to bring a backpack (large enough to hold a folder, iPad and lunchbox), a folder (which we will provide) and a healthy snack and water bottle every day.  Please send the water bottle in a Ziploc bag in case of spills.

Below you will find our kindergarten supply list.  Please send all supplies (if possible) on the first day of school.  Although a folder is listed, you do not need to send a folder, we will provide one for each child in the class on the first day of school.  The shared supplies: tissues, Ziploc bags, etc. can be sent in when you have a chance and there is room in your child’s backpack!

You can drop off your child’s supplies prior to the first day of school if you wish.  If you choose to do so, please have the supplies in a bag clearly labeled with your child’s name as well as Malley/Kane Room A-10.  This way the supplies will make their way to the correct room.

If your child prefers to be called by a nickname, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make the appropriate labels and name tags for the classroom.

The first three days of school, September 1-3, are half days of school for kindergarten students.  The afternoons on these half days will be used for our Kindergarten Screening.  Each child will be given a day and time to come back to meet with us individually for his or her screening.  Please check the screening schedule for your child’s designated appointment.  The children will need to bring snack even though it is a half day.

Our virtual Kindergarten Open House will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, September 1st at 7:00 P.M.   Please add this date to your calendar.  More information will be coming.

Please see the supply list below.  Only your child will use the supplies you send in, but please label headphones, pencil box, scissors, etc. just to be on the safe side.  Things will all look the same if they fall on the floor!
