Dear Third Grader,
Welcome to our class! I am so excited to be a third grade teacher and to have the opportunity to work with you and your family. We are going to have a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventure. I thought you might want to know a little bit about me. I have two children; Bryce and Sheridan. Bryce is an eighth grader and loves to play soccer. Sheridan is a sixth grader and loves competitive cheerleading. Tanner is a poodle/bichon rescue dog. He is full of energy and loves to go on long walks. We spend most of our free time together, but when I have a moment to myself I love to read, scour Pinterest, hike, bike ride, and shop! If you stop into our classroom before school begins, feel free to leave your bag of school supplies on your desk.
I want to give you your fist assignment for third grade. Don’t worry though, it’s not too hard! You will need a clean can that is about 19-29 ounces (the bigger and taller the better). Decorate the outside of the can with different pictures and symbols that represent you. You might put pictures of your family or stickers that show your favorite sport or hobby or anything else you think is special to you! Bring this can to school with you on the first day of school. We will share them during morning meeting and throughout the day to get to know a little bit about each other. Then, it will sit on your desk all year long to hold your pencils and other supplies you might need throughout the day.
Enjoy the balance of the summer and I look forward to meeting you on the first day of school!
