    Notice to Bidders

    The Board of Education of the Somers Central School District will receive individual sealed bids for the following work, as described in the Contract Documents:

    Water Tank Replacement at Somers Middle School before 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 22, 2020

    and/or

    Cupola and Masonry Restoration at Somers Middle School before 3:30 PM, Wednesday, July 22, 2020

    The District will receive bids at the Business Office, Somers Central School District, located in Somers Intermediate School, 240 Route 202, Somers, NY 10589 at the date and times stated above. Any and all bids that have been received in accordance with the terms hereof will be publicly opened and read aloud.

    The work consists of ONE contract for each project:       ALL WORK

    The work for the Water Tank Replacement at Somers Middle School includes, but is not limited to, removal and replacement of existing underground water tank, including, but not limited to, removal and replacement of water tank, piping, controls and site restoration.

    The work for the Cupola and Masonry Restoration at Somers Middle School includes, but is not limited to, restoration of the cupola and masonry wing wall, including but not limited to, carpentry repairs and refinishing of the cupola and removal and replacement of masonry wing walls.

    Bidders may examine the bid documents on or after 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the office of the Architect, CPL, 332 Route 100, Somers, New York 10589.  However, the Contract Documents may only be obtained thru the office of REV, 330 Route 17A Suite #2, Goshen, NY 10924 (877-272-0216). Complete digital sets of Contract Documents shall be obtained online (with a free user account) as a download for a non-refundable fee of Forty-Nine ($49.00) Dollars at the following website: www.usinglesspaper.com under “public projects”.  Optionally, in lieu of digital copies, a CD may be obtained directly from REV upon a deposit of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars for each CD. Checks for deposits shall be made payable to the Somers Central School District and may be uncertified.

    All bid addenda will be transmitted to registered plan holders via email and will be available at the above referenced website.  Any bidder requiring hard copies of the documents shall make arrangements with the printer and pay for all printing, packaging and shipping costs.

    Plan holders who have obtained CDs or hard copies of the bid documents will need to make the determination if a CD or hard copy of the addenda are required for their use, and coordinate directly with the printer for hard copies of addenda to be issued. The bid deposit for CDs will be returned only if the CDs are returned to REV, in good condition, within thirty days of the bid opening.

    A pre-bid walk-through for the Water Tank Replacement project has been scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2020 starting at 10:00 AM, and a pre-bid walk-through for the Cupola and Masonry Restoration project has been scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2020 starting at 11:00 AM. Bidders are to meet at the main entrance of Somers Middle School, 250 Route 202, Somers, NY 10589. Attendance at the pre-bid walk-through is highly recommended in order to fully understand the project requirements.     Bidders must use all forms as specified in the bid documents. Bids must be clearly marked in a sealed envelope referencing bid name, bid due date, and bidder's name. Such bids must be delivered to the Business Office of the Somers Central School District, no later than 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 for the Water Tank Replacement project, and no later than 3:30 PM, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 for the Cupola and Masonry Restoration project. Any bids received after those times will be returned to the bidder unopened.

    Bidders are solely responsible for the arrival of the bid package at the designated location and at the designated time, regardless of the means of delivery.

    The Board of Education reserves the right to grant awards within forty-five (45) days from the date of the bid opening during which period bids shall not be withdrawn. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids that it considers not being in the best interest of the School District.
