    PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Board of Education, Somers Central School District, 250 Route 202, Somers, New York 10589, for:

    2016 Bond - Phase 2 – District Wide Reconstruction – Contract No. 7 - Theatrical Services REBID

    The bids shall be in accordance with the Specifications, Drawings and Terms of the proposed Contract.

    These proposals will be received by Ken Crowley, Assistant Superintendent for Business, Somers Central School District, at the

    Until 4:00 PM prevailing time on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

    EXAMINING AND OBTAINING DOCUMENTS

    The Contract Documents may be examined at the office of Architect, Sammel Architecture PLLC, 332 Route 100, Somers, New York 10589 (914 276 0777).   However, the Contract Documents may only be obtained through the office of REV, 330 Route 17A Suite #2, Goshen, New York 10924 (877-272-0216) beginning on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.

    Complete digital sets of Contract Documents shall be obtained online (with a free user account) as a download for a non-refundable fee of Forty-Nine ($49.00) Dollars at the following website: www.usinglesspaper.com under “Public Projects.”

    Optionally, in lieu of digital copies, a CD may be obtained directly from REV upon a deposit of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars for each CD.   Checks for deposits shall be made payable to the Somers Central School District and may be uncertified.

    All bid addenda will be transmitted to registered plan holders via email and will be available at the above referenced website.  Any bidder requiring hard copies of the documents shall make arrangements with the printer and pay for all printing, packaging and shipping costs.

    Plan holders who have obtained CDs or hard copies of the bid documents will need to make the determination if a CD or hard copy of the addenda are required for their use, and coordinate directly with the printer for hard copies of addenda to be issued. The bid deposit for CDs will be returned only if the CDs are returned to REV, in good condition, within thirty (30) days of the bid opening.

    BID SUBMISSIONS

    Each proposal must be accompanied by security in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, in the form and subject to the conditions stipulated in the Information to Bidders. All proposals must be enclosed in sealed envelopes which are clearly marked on the outside with the following information:

    One original and two additional copies are to be submitted.  No Bidder shall withdraw their bid within sixty days (60) after the formal opening thereof.   No phone, fax or email proposals will be accepted. The School District is not responsible for delays by any delivery service, the internal mail delivery system of the School District or any other means of delivery employed by the Bidder.

    The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in any proposals, or to reject any or all proposals or to accept the proposal which, in the Board of Education’s judgement, is in the best interest of the School District.

    The accepted low bidder(s) will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Labor and Material Payment Bond.

    Site Inspection:  A Pre-Bid walk-through has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 2019 starting at 3:00 PM.   Bidders are to meet at the main entrance of Somers High School, located at 120 Primrose Street (Route 139), Lincolndale, NY 10540.  Attendance at the pre-bid walk-through is highly recommended in order to fully understand the project requirements.  Additional information is available by contacting Charlene.

    The Board of Education of the Somers Central School District in Westchester County (in accordance with Section 103 of Article 5A of the General Municipal Law) hereby invites the submission of sealed bids for:

    Driver Education Program

    For the period September 1, 2019 through August 31, 2023

    Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Business Office, 240 Route 202, Somers, NY 10589 or by mail to the Somers Central School District, P.O. Box 620, Lincolndale, NY 10540.   

    Information for bidders, specifications and forms will be available commencing Monday, April 8, 2019 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Business Office, located at 240 Route 202, Somers, NY or via email to msteinitz@somersschools.org.

    All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bid clearly marked on the outside of the envelope.  Any bids received after the advertised time for bid opening will be returned to bidder unopened.

    The Board of Education reserves the right to waive what it deems to be bidding or specification informalities relating to a specific bid;  to waive what it deems to be technical defects, irregularities and omissions relating to a specific bid; to request additional information from any bidder; to reject any and all bids for any reason or no reason at all; to re-advertise and invite new bids; or to accept the whole or a part of a bid as the Board deems to be in the best interest of the School District. 

    No bidder may withdraw his/her/its bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

    Somers High School Wastewater Treatment Plant

    Request for Proposals

    Proposal Due Date:  Tuesday, April 30, 2019, by 2 p.m.

    The Somers Central School District is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) for the selection of a company (“Contractor”) to provide Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations, Maintenance and Monitoring (OM&M) services for a 31,250 gallon per day Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located at the Somers High School, at 120 Primrose Street, Lincolndale, New York 10540.  The treatment facility has been in operation since November 2010 and consists of the following technologies:

    • Flow Equalization
    • Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR)
    • Tertiary Membrane Filtration
    • Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection
    • Post-Aeration

     

    The selected Contractor will be responsible for all day-to-day OM&M services for this facility as required by the Somers Central School District and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (NYSDEC) State Pollution Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit No. NY0035483.  All pricing is to be provided in accordance with the attached bid form.  The contract term is for a period of one (1) year, with an option to extend the OM&M contract for additional one (1) year periods over a four (4) year period at the sole discretion of the School District.  The anticipated contract initiation date is on or about July 1, 2019.
