Dear Somers Community Member,

On behalf of the Board of Education, administration, faculty, staff, and all the children of Somers, I want to thank you for your continued support in passing the 2020-21 school budget at the rate of 74%  The two Board of Education seats will be filled by Dr. Lindsay Portnoy and MaryRose Joseph.

Given the personal, emotional and economic hardship suffered by so many in our community during this pandemic, it is especially meaningful that voters chose to pass the school budget. The district is committed to maintaining current academic programs while providing the best possible experience for our students in the coming school year.

I also want to thank and acknowledge the nearly 75 volunteers on the Reentry Coalition who are working with administrators, faculty, staff, and students to develop a plan for the start of school in the fall. Once again, the collective strength of the Somers community will see us through the most challenging of times.

Thank you for your continued partnership in enhancing the lives of our children and move this amazing district Forward in Excellence.

Thank you for entrusting your children and their education to us.

    Dr. Raymond H. Blanch

    Superintendent of Schools
